More than 479073 pupils to take BEM exams on June 3
As from this year, the degree of fundamental studies (BEF) will be replaced by degree of intermediate studies (BEM). Pupils will have to study for four years instead of three to obtain this degree, said a press release issued by the department of national education ministry.
It’s worth mentioning that this process comes within the framework of educational reform in Algeria.
According to the same source, more than 479073 candidates are expected to take the exam of BEM on June 3rd. 116 pupils are handicapped and 12260 candidates will take exam in Tamazight language.
On the other hand, pupils who pass the BEM exam will go to continue studying in high school. Those who fail in the exam will be given another chance by taking into account compensation system said the same release.
According to the release, the results of the exams will be announced on June 20. Education minister, Mr. Abubakr Ben Bouzid will check the running of the exams in the wilaya of Tlemcen (western Algeria).
