Sourd/Deaf

Until recently I knew only the word ad'rd'ur for deaf-sourd, and that there was also an other word used mez'z'ag in Tamashek, Ghat, Adagh, Zenaga(zuzek, t'ut'eg & yez'z'ut'ag), and other Zenata dialects amejjaj like Timimoun, Mzab, Chenoua only difference in Zenata is that the emphatic Z and the G are prenounced with a J (kabyle has a3zzug).

I was reading the Essai sur la phonologie du proto-berbere and found that it also exists in Tashelhiyt(probably ashtukn dialect):

z'mz'g: faire le sourd, faire la sourde oreille

Re : Sourd/Deaf

Maybe it could be explained with examples from other languages and compare the words HEAR / DEAF(NOT HEAR)

Latin: surd/us /absurd etc..
