Moroccan TVs pledge to shoot 30 motion pictures per year

Rabat, Jan. 09 - The Moroccan state-owned Radio and TV Company (SNRT) and the 2M channel have pledged to shoot some thirty movies annually as provided by their specifications book, said Communication Minister and government spokesman, Nabil Benabdallah.

On the investiture ceremony of the members of the Assistance Commission for National Movie Production (2006-2007), a Communication Ministry communiqué said the relevant fund is to receive the current year between MAD 30 to 50Mn (1US$ is 09MADs) to boost movie production.

On the occasion, the commission members, headed by Ahmed Boukous, said they will strive to improve the output and quality of the sector's production.

The selection of the commission’s members was made in consultation with the Moroccan cinematographic center (CCM) and professionals of the sector, the communiqué said.
