Algiers prepares to be 2007 Arab cultural capital

Algiers is preparing to be the 2007 Arab cultural capital. Officials have just a few more days to make up for the delays in renovating the city. For a year, the Algerian capital will host a variety of culture and art from across the Arab world.

...The Arab Cultural Capital is a UNESCO initiative, under the Cultural Capitals Programme to promote and celebrate Arab culture and encourage regional co-operation. Maghreb cities that have served as Arab cultural capitals since the project began in 1996 are Tunis (1997) and Rabat (2003).

UNESCO hello you are promoting Arab Culture in Afrika! Hello you are not promoting Amazigh culture at all especially in Amazigh home land/continent Afrika.

It doesn't seem logic does it.
Is it just my eyes or me but I can't find anything on amazigh culture on the unesco site of Morocco and north-africa:

As this is an initiative of UNESCO, it is TIME for an other initiative: promoting and celebrating Amazigh culture in North-Africa. Can you imagine how that would be/sound like? replace the word arab in the text with amazigh and use your imagination. UNESCO goes Amazigh

it is really shame for UNESCO, they do not know that it y' has another population which must preserve its culture in its own ground?

I don't know about the current situation of communication between Amazigh NGO's and UNESCO in Morocco. I think they can make a difference if all Amazigh NGO's of North-Africa approach UNESCO for this Project, a simmilar one for Amazigh Culture across Nort-Africa. The question is has the discussion started or not?
